Business Symposium

This Thursday was the business symposium and it was actually really fun. I was excited to hear the stories of other business professionals and how they started and picked their career choices. There were a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners which was really cool. We didn't have a lot of time to personally talk to the business professionals but I got a few contact information from the professionals I wanted to talk to (in the very few seconds we had) before we had to go to the next rotation. I am excited to get in touch with the professionals and start scheduling some interviews to get to know their point of view of the business industry and get some of my many questions answered.

Designing the packaging

I have been doing some research on packaging design, what materials I want, and what I want our packaging to communicate. I didn't think that packaging would be so time-consuming but trying to figure out the material design and the cost is a lot more work than I thought. Designing the packaging has so much more thought in it than others think. How you package a product can make or break whether people will buy it or not and how it looks can communicate so many different messages. I want our company value and mission to be able to come out through our packaging without it being overwhelming or just like other protein and energizing snacks. I know that I want our packaging to be eco-friendly and have a printed-on design so I requested quotes from a few companies about the cost of customizable and sustainable packaging. It is at least $3,000-$4,000 for a minimum of 10,000 units which is not something that is our price range and in the quantity that we can hold. However, I will continue to do some more research and hopefully have a rough draft of the packaging at the end of this week.
