Team Leadership

Vietnamese Student Association

My Journey:

My journey with VSA taught me the power of community-driven leadership. As a team lead, I coordinated logistics and communication with the organization for a 40+ member team. I implemented new onboarding systems, used surveys to improve member retention, and boosted engagement through social media and in-person events.

As Dance Director, I had to bring together members with varying skill levels, teach choreography, and prepare for performances—all while fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Challenges Overcome:

I faced challenges with group cohesion and time conflicts, so I introduced flexible rehearsal options and created “micro-goals” to build momentum. That experience shaped my approach to team dynamics: clear communication, emotional intelligence, and consistent structure are everything.

VSA wasn’t just an extracurricular—it was a leadership lab where I learned to manage vision, people, and time with heart and strategy.

Skills Obtained/Utilized: Leadership, team operations, choreography, member engagement, cross-departmental coordination, and content creation (Canva, Adobe Rush, Adobe Lightroom, Instagram).

Nitrogen Water Recycling System

Texas A&M University

My Journey:

“Leaving behind a clean planet for future generations.” That was the mission behind ReNitro, my capstone project where I led the development of a sustainable solution to capture agricultural nitrogen runoff and convert it into reusable nitrogen for industrial use.

I managed a 4-member team, conducted market validation through interviews and surveys, and developed a complete business model—from supply chain logistics to cost analysis and theory of change. .

Challenges Overcome:

A key challenged faced for this concept was funding. How can we ensure that if NWRS was implemented there was enough funding to research, develop, and build it. That is when I came up with the solution of 3-way relationship between universities, agriculture farmers, and industrial nitrogen suppliers who can all mutually benefit. The project pushed me to think both scientifically and entrepreneurially and taught me how to communicate complex ideas to both professors and potential industry partners (like Intel, Yara, and BYD). I also created all branding and diagrams, combining my creative and analytical sides

Skills Obtained/Utilized: Lean methodology, innovation strategy, team leadership, environmental research, pitch development, technical diagramming, stakeholder communication

Choreographer/Dancer

Modern Dance Team

My Journey:

Dance wasn’t just a passion—it became a powerful space for self-expression, leadership, and transformation.

I first stepped into the dance world in high school, but my journey truly accelerated when I auditioned (on a whim) for the Modern Dance Team under PHILSA at Texas A&M—and made it, despite having no formal training. That moment showed me the value of saying “yes” to the unknown.

Over time, I went from being a nervous newcomer to choreographing routines, leading workshops, and eventually serving as Dance Director for multiple projects. We held practices for as long as 6 hours.

Challenges Overcome:

Balancing performance prep with full course loads was challenging—but it was during those moments of exhaustion that I learned how to motivate a team, coordinate schedules, and foster deep connections. As a leader, I focused not just on perfecting technique, but on helping each dancer feel seen and confident in their growth. My experience taught me how to read team dynamics, resolve creative differences, and coach through both discipline and empathy.

Skills Obtained/Utilized: Team coordination, creative direction, time management, coaching, leadership, emotional intelligence, planning & scheduling

Founder: Baked Goodz

Accelerator Program

My Journey:

Baked Goodz started as a fun idea—but it quickly became a crash course in product-market fit, user testing, and lean startup strategy.

I ideated the product concept (a health-conscious take on Asian-inspired desserts), built a digital ordering platform using Figma prototypes, and ran UX research and taste-testing feedback loops to optimize recipes and pricing.

Challenges Overcome:

The biggest challenge was managing business operations and customer relations while doing school full-time. Time management was essential to ensure that I was meeting the demand of the customers and ensuring quality baked goods for satisfaction. I started to focus on promoting the brand through Instagram and social media, trying to be as active as possible through digital reach. This project taught me how to adapt in real-time, prioritize user needs, and manage a real business under tight constraints.

Skills Obtained/Utilized: Product development, digital marketing, customer research, web development, food photography, UX design,  Agile, MS Excel, MS Power Point,
