Meeting Journey
This past week I finally go to meet Journey and she was amazing. It was nice to talk to someone who had a similar interest in diet culture as well as food. She had a lot of great advice as well as her working experiences as a dietician clerk. Which helped me realize that maybe dietetics is not the most suitable job for me. She said that it is a very slow job and if I am looking for some excitement in my career dietetics is not going to get me there. I think that my passion for understanding food and how our body works will always interest me and I will continue to learn about it but will not consider it as a career that I see myself doing.
Working on recipes
Since I was out sick for a few weeks it has set me back a little with what I wanted to have completed for my original work. I worked on the nutter butter recipe and the "fried" tofu recipe that I created a few weeks ago. The fried tofu is air fried and has a gluten-free breading so it is suitable for those who have a gluten intolerance. The nutter butter recipe is pretty good but the cookie part is a little dry which I am working on fixing.
While working on my recipes my dad talked to me about college and my career and told me if I was really passionate about baking I should not be going to dietetics but into culinary school. It was a major that I haven't really thought about and will highly consider. I don't know if I want to major in culinary arts but maybe minor in it. But I think it will be a fun and exciting experience if I choose to do so.
