Adapting to challenges
Over the past week, a lot has changed with my business and how we are going about it. My meeting with my mentor went great and she guided me down the new path that I have set. I was filling out some legal documents, with one being the LLC document, so I asked my dad a few questions about it and he did not think I was serious enough to file my company as an LLC. He did not approve and would not let me use his space because he did not think I would succeed. So I started looking into Texas Cottage Law and regulations which allow you to make food at home without all the licenses and other legal documents. Not only does it allow for more freedom but is way less expensive than filing for a real company. Even though I was upset that my dad did not believe in me I am glad I have changed my plans. He was not wrong about it being unsafe and that there is a huge risk that I am taking. This is safer for me as a high school student with no income.
I am working on creating a new business plan and will keep moving forward with this new path ahead. I am also studying for my food manager's license which hopefully I can get done in two to three weeks so I can start producing and selling my products.
ISM
In ISM we have been doing a lot of work and focusing on interviews. I have been really caught up with my business and outside work that I have not had time to do interviews. But hopefully this week I can clear up my schedule to get some interviews in and get to learn more from other professionals.
