Building a company, you love so others will too

Through my own experience, research, and from my mentors I cannot stress enough how important it is to build your company vision. A company vision includes the company values, goals, and plans, ultimately creating what you want your company to stand for. Having a strong vision of what you want your company to be will start you off on the right foot giving you an idea of where to head with your company.

Creating your Goal
In order to have a Vision for your company in my opinion you should first start off with your goal. What are you trying to achieve with your company? Is it to help others, create a new invention, prevent global warming? Having these set goals will help identify what you want your company to be about. For example, Kind snacks. Their company is about being kind back to others and the environment. They achieve this through the hundreds of fundraisers and events that they hold to help the environment or remind others to be kind like their #21daysofkind. Apple is about simplicity and sleek easy use of technology. They achieved this through their product design making it look modern and sophisticated, as well as making their functionality simple to learn. Asking yourself the goal you want to achieve with your company will you picture the company you want and help establish other aspects of your company.

Creating your Values
Now that you have established your goal how will you achieve this goal through the values that your company holds? Every company is unique and will have similar or different values depending on what you want your company to stand for and your goal. If the goal is to help prevent global warming, then a value would be to limit waste or reuse trash. A value is something that you have to include in your company. It is not something that you can ignore but something that is a part of your company. You can have more than one value in your company to help build what you want your company to stand for.

Your Vision
Now that you have the values and goals of your company you can put it all together. This is your vision. What your company stands for. Your vision at first may seem meaningless but as you grow as an entrepreneur and develop your company it becomes apparent in almost every aspect. Your vision aids in production, employment, work environment, and culture. Vision can help know the person is the right fit for the job if their values align with the company values if they do not align, they may not be the best fit for the job. By establishing employees with all the same values as the company you create a rich work environment where everyone has a set goal that is the same as the company. This can help build work ethic and employee satisfaction. They feel that they are working towards a common goal. Having a vision of what you want your business to be influences aspects and decisions made within the business and should always be considered.

Your Vision in the Future
The vision you created should stay within the company for the rest of its life. It can adapt as the company grows but it should not change. The company vision helps see where the company will be in the future, such as how you are going to reach the goal you created.

Love your Vision
Building a vision for your company is not a task you have to do but a task you must devote time and effort to. You have to love the vision you created. Make sure that it is really what you want it to be because if you are ensure others will be too. Having a company, you love and worked hard for will be recognized by others who will see a company worth spending money and time in. No one will invest or buy from a company that does not truly believe in what they are doing. Why develop and invest time in a company you created that you are not proud of or happy of. You have to love and know that this is what you want and that is when you can start to be successful.
